They met in July of 2004 at the Post Office in Santa Monica and then at the rock jetty on the beach covered in STARFISH in Venice and then on Steven's fourth appearance on Blind Date.
2004 - They met while Tamara was getting her Masters Degree in Spiritual Psychology and working full time at a Product Integration company. Steven was selling advertising for the Robb Report Magazine and they both had three years of sobriety under their belts. Tamara appeared on E! True Hollywood Story - Beauty Pageants (2004) and also on "Starting Over" by Bunim-Murray Productions on NBC on the topic of plastic surgery.
2005 - Steven put Tamara on the red carpet at the Night of 100 Stars for the first time. Tamara graduates with her MA and gets a job as a news anchor for Channel 16 in Santa Monica, the only news station in LA by the beach. They started doing reality TV together, as Steven has been on Blind Date three times already. Steven publishes his novel, Below the Waterline. Steven is featured in the New York Times as a talkative sales guy on an airplane. Tamara enlists the help of Henry Dittman to get help for Steven's over-caffeinated multiple cell phone addiction on Before & After'Noon Movies on USA Networks. He can't change so Tamara sacks Steven on Breaking Up with Shannen Doherty on Oxygen. Steven is featured on Pitch to America on Jay Leno pitching John Cusack to the International Space Station and sucks Tamara right back into his black hole. ;)
2006 - By now, Tamara appeared as a guest three times on Steven's Time Warner Public Access talk show. She left her job at the Product Integration company and had time to read "Eat, Pray, Love" and then she dumped Steven on Breaking Up with Shannen Doherty which appeared as a segment on Entertainment Tonight on July 20, 2006. Tamara started working for dating company Kelleher. Steven tempted Tamara with his Public Access time slot so she took over Steven's Public Access talk show, which he had been using for celebrity prank calls and space stuff. Then, after winning best sales man, Steven loses his Robb Report sales job but gets a big severance pay check. So, without a show, Steven pitched a new show, "Rejection: Chasing Billionaires" to Oxygen, MTV, VH1, Comedy Central, and E!. Steven is featured on Pitch to America on Jay Leno pitching Al Gore to the International Space Station (written by Tamara.) Tamara is featured on Access Hollywood as Red Hot on the Red Carpet. She wrote it herself and did it in one take filmed by Matthew Hausle. Tamara works as a host/interviewer for two medical infomercials and also appears with her amazingly flat and chiseled abs in an infomercial for the Hula Chair which was on Ellen. Tamara and Steven work as an extra on Oceans 13 and Steven pitches George Clooney and makes him whine, "Not now!" Tamara takes on a second job as a news magazine host for the city of Beverly Hills, which required a DNA test to pass and qualify.
2007 - Steven was called "The most persistent man in television" by Good Morning America in July. Tamara remembers the exact moment when the name Vanilla Fire came to her when she was driving a rental car to a studio gig. When their bunny "Truffles" died, Tamara had to start counting days again. It's bacon! "Bacon tastes like little baby angels." Tamara begged Steven to buy Jimmy Chew with money Robin Williams gave them for their film, and birthed Jimmy Chew as a star dog on Petfinder on Animal Planet. Steven and Tamara had a hilarious experience on the Ted Danson birthday party scene on Curb Your Enthusiasm episode #55. Steven is featured on Pitch to America on Jay Leno pitching Tamara Henry, the first Playboy Bunny, to the International Space Station, which Tamara wrote and made Steven rehearse over and over. Jay asked, "How many Tamara's are there?" JP was considering Steven as the poster-boy for an herbal type of viagra. Tamara is on Playboy Radio. Tamara joins Facebook thanks to her friend Jennifer. Tamara is going to ISELA for spiritual entertainment. She is trying to lose weight with Isagenix. Tamara asks "Can Film Save The World" at the LA Film Fest in June. Mark Burnett wrote them a check for a rough cut and Steven uses the money to film at the Beijing Paralympics, Tamara relapses when he is on the other side of the planet. Vampires. Breaking Bad. Tamara appears on Millionaire Matchmaker for the second time and Steven gets a clue. So, Steven gets more than ten billionaires to write them checks to finish the film Unbeaten and attached Day Aykroyd to narrate and gets Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed to endorse the film with a PSA in their home. They got engaged at the Night of 100 Stars. Tamara takes prescribed pharmaceuticals and goes into a depression for April, May and June. Nurse Jackie. The half life of the pharms finally wears off and Tamara is back. Organic and raw. Tamara finally loses her last ten pounds and is skinnier than ever. Tamara meets Kevin Carr of Access Hollywood and acquires the sobriquet "Green T" and starts producing award winning environmental webisodes. Tamara goes home to Arkansas for the last time for her 20 year class reunion. They give her the Michael Jackson "Most Changed" Award. Sam Worthington invites Steven and Tamara and their wheelchair racers to the Premiere of Avatar. Tamara interviews James Cameron at the 7th Annual Global Green Pre Oscar Party. Steven travels to Tawara to film Return To Tarawa in the South Pacific and Tamara relapses while he is on the other side of the planet. Tamara helps the 2010 Miss America Contestants Go Green. Tamara tells her story on Playboy Radio. Steven and Tamara install the first solar powered stop sign in Santa Monica. Steven and Tamara attend the Avatar Premiere with the only disabled people. Ed Harris narrates their film Return To Tarawa and Steven appears on Larry King Live with Ed Harris. Their 15 year old Himalayan cat Sir Kindles Fire disappears and Tamara relapses for the last time November 2. While in a Vegas hotel, a wrong phone call to Blake Shelton finds them an Executive Producer from San Jose.

Tamara goes into comedy and wins Most Hilarious TV Host at the LA Comedy Awards. 2012 - Tamara takes on the role of VP of Social Media for Vanilla Fire. Vanilla Fire opens with a big Memorial Day military premiere at the DGA Directors Guild of America and Clint Black sings the movie's original song on Good Morning America introduced by Elizabeth Vargas, who hosts the ABC 20/20 TV special Crazy Little Thing Called Love. Steven films at the London Olylmpics and Paralympics, Steven started taking pilates but then got injured and gained a lot of weight and was very fat for his appearance with on Larry King Now. Tamara draws up a severance agreement to break up with Steven and he signs it. Steven's Dad died, leaving Steven the heir to the Edith Wharton fortune from the 1880s. They landed on the Oscar Shortlist for Until They Are Home after Tamara's TV show "Metro Motion" was nominated for a Los Angeles Area Emmy. Tamara wins the Ex Beauty Queen Episode of RuPau's Drag U. Tamara is more manic than ever. Unbeaten was named one of the top ten Olympic films of all time by TIME magazine. On Valentine's Day while Vanilla Fire is featured on NBC Today Show's Kathie Lee and Hoda in Santa Monica, Tamara has a spiritual experience in yoga class that send her to the emergency room, and Oscar Pistorius (who is on Vanilla Fire's The Invincibles movie poster) shoots and kills his girlfriend, catapulting Steven and Blake Leeper all over the news. Tamara is interviewed by Inside Edition at the Night of 100 Stars. Steven appears on Larry King Now with Kelsey Grammer the day after the Oscars. Tamara wins Producers Choice Award - Funniest Reality Television Celebrity at the 4th Annual LA Comedy Awards. After some couple's therapy on LA Shrinks on BRAVO in April 2013, Tamara wants to find the most ultimate wedding show to marry them on TV in 2015. On Memorial Day 2013 Vanilla Fire finally sells Until They Are Home to Walmart and Netflix and celebrates with a Veterans Day Premiere on November 11, 2013. November 25, 2013 Vanilla Fire put their client Blake Leeper on Arsenio Hall for a sports reunion that went viral. Blake also flew with the Thunderbirds and started the Daytona 500 at Nascar. 2014 - The statute of limitations on Balloon Boy will be over, and on Valentine's Day the were featured on OWN: Where Are They Now narrated by Oprah Winfrey, so now Vanilla Fire can make their very first feature film, but Steven and Tamara are fighting about who's going to direct. Tamara wants Jim Carrey to play Richard Heene and Yoko Ono to Executive Produce while Lucy Lu plays Myumi. Vanilla Fire has all the footage of Heene buying the supplies to build the "balloon" from Home Depot. Ed Harris just happens to be the spokesperson for Home Depot. Ed Harris could play the corrupt Larimer County Sheriff. Tamara wants this transformational film of redemption to help bring awareness to the cause of Diabetes. Tamara begins TM meditation and then returns to Christ on Martin Luther King Day. Her brother Ted is ran over on his bicycle on St. Patrick's Day. Tamara joins a daily Bible study group. She attends the RealScreen Awards and the Variety Faith Based Summit and Vanilla Fire has three pitch meetings. Tamara's brother Bill is ready to make a faith based feature film - move over Mel Gibson! Tamara has a dream and two visions of a full moon and finds out that Edith Wharton was featured in the 2012 September issue of VOGUE the month after Steven's Father passed away and she has another spiritual experience of rebirth at a full moon dance on Friday the 13th all the while her numerology abilities are increasing. The local TV show Metro Motion wins a local Emmy. Tamara gives JP Dejoria a Vanilla Fire commanders coin at the Brent Shapiro Summer Spectacular. Steven and Tamara are invited to the Marine Ball. Steven and Tamara celebrate ten years together with a special anniversary party where he gives her the Edith Wharton heirloom family crystal. Steven, Blake and Tamara attend the Lionsgate Expendables 3 Fire & Ice Premiere and Tamara tells Mel Gibson about her film idea. Blake will appear on Queen Latifah on Monday September 22, 2014.
2015 - Steven and Tamara had the first reality TV wedding of the year. The wedding aired on VH1 on January 4th, 2015. And they are living happily ever after.

He can't change so Tamara sacks Steven on Breaking Up with Shannen Doherty on Oxygen. Steven is featured on Pitch to America on Jay Leno pitching John Cusack to the International Space Station and sucks Tamara right back into his black hole. ;)
2006 - By now, Tamara appeared as a guest three times on Steven's Time Warner Public Access talk show. She left her job at the Product Integration company and had time to read "Eat, Pray, Love" and then she dumped Steven on Breaking Up with Shannen Doherty which appeared as a segment on Entertainment Tonight on July 20, 2006. Tamara started working for dating company Kelleher. Steven tempted Tamara with his Public Access time slot so she took over Steven's Public Access talk show, which he had been using for celebrity prank calls and space stuff. Then, after winning best sales man, Steven loses his Robb Report sales job but gets a big severance pay check. So, without a show, Steven pitched a new show, "Rejection: Chasing Billionaires" to Oxygen, MTV, VH1, Comedy Central, and E!. Steven is featured on Pitch to America on Jay Leno pitching Al Gore to the International Space Station (written by Tamara.) Tamara is featured on Access Hollywood as Red Hot on the Red Carpet. She wrote it herself and did it in one take filmed by Matthew Hausle. Tamara works as a host/interviewer for two medical infomercials and also appears with her amazingly flat and chiseled abs in an infomercial for the Hula Chair which was on Ellen. Tamara and Steven work as an extra on Oceans 13 and Steven pitches George Clooney and makes him whine, "Not now!" Tamara takes on a second job as a news magazine host for the city of Beverly Hills, which required a DNA test to pass and qualify.
2007 - Steven was called "The most persistent man in television" by Good Morning America in July. Tamara remembers the exact moment when the name Vanilla Fire came to her when she was driving a rental car to a studio gig. When their bunny "Truffles" died, Tamara had to start counting days again. It's bacon! "Bacon tastes like little baby angels." Tamara begged Steven to buy Jimmy Chew with money Robin Williams gave them for their film, and birthed Jimmy Chew as a star dog on Petfinder on Animal Planet. Steven and Tamara had a hilarious experience on the Ted Danson birthday party scene on Curb Your Enthusiasm episode #55. Steven is featured on Pitch to America on Jay Leno pitching Tamara Henry, the first Playboy Bunny, to the International Space Station, which Tamara wrote and made Steven rehearse over and over. Jay asked, "How many Tamara's are there?" JP was considering Steven as the poster-boy for an herbal type of viagra. Tamara is on Playboy Radio. Tamara joins Facebook thanks to her friend Jennifer. Tamara is going to ISELA for spiritual entertainment. She is trying to lose weight with Isagenix. Tamara asks "Can Film Save The World" at the LA Film Fest in June. Mark Burnett wrote them a check for a rough cut and Steven uses the money to film at the Beijing Paralympics, Tamara relapses when he is on the other side of the planet. Vampires. Breaking Bad. Tamara appears on Millionaire Matchmaker for the second time and Steven gets a clue. So, Steven gets more than ten billionaires to write them checks to finish the film Unbeaten and attached Day Aykroyd to narrate and gets Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed to endorse the film with a PSA in their home. They got engaged at the Night of 100 Stars. Tamara takes prescribed pharmaceuticals and goes into a depression for April, May and June. Nurse Jackie. The half life of the pharms finally wears off and Tamara is back. Organic and raw. Tamara finally loses her last ten pounds and is skinnier than ever. Tamara meets Kevin Carr of Access Hollywood and acquires the sobriquet "Green T" and starts producing award winning environmental webisodes. Tamara goes home to Arkansas for the last time for her 20 year class reunion. They give her the Michael Jackson "Most Changed" Award. Steven and Tamara attend the Avatar Premiere with the only disabled people. Ed Harris narrates their film Return To Tarawa and Steven appears on Larry King Live with Ed Harris. Their 15 year old Himalayan cat Sir Kindles Fire disappears and Tamara relapses for the last time November 2. While in a Vegas hotel, a wrong phone call to Blake Shelton finds them an Executive Producer from San Jose.

Tamara goes into comedy and wins Most Hilarious TV Host at the LA Comedy Awards. 2012 - Tamara takes on the role of VP of Social Media for Vanilla Fire. Vanilla Fire opens with a big Memorial Day military premiere at the DGA Directors Guild of America and Clint Black sings the movie's original song on Good Morning America introduced by Elizabeth Vargas, who hosts the ABC 20/20 TV special Crazy Little Thing Called Love. Steven films at the London Olylmpics and Paralympics, Steven started taking pilates but then got injured and gained a lot of weight and was very fat for his appearance with on Larry King Now. Tamara draws up a severance agreement to break up with Steven and he signs it. Steven's Dad died, leaving Steven the heir to the Edith Wharton fortune from the 1880s. They landed on the Oscar Shortlist for Until They Are Home after Tamara's TV show "Metro Motion" was nominated for a Los Angeles Area Emmy. Tamara wins the Ex Beauty Queen Episode of RuPau's Drag U. On Valentine's Day while Vanilla Fire is featured on NBC Today Show's Kathie Lee and Hoda in Santa Monica, Tamara has a spiritual experience in yoga class that send her to the emergency room, and Oscar Pistorius (who is on Vanilla Fire's The Invincibles movie poster) shoots and kills his girlfriend, catapulting Steven and Blake Leeper all over the news. Tamara is interviewed by Inside Edition at the Night of 100 Stars. Steven appears on Larry King Now with Kelsey Grammer the day after the Oscars. Tamara wins Producers Choice Award - Funniest Reality Television Celebrity at the 4th Annual LA Comedy Awards. After some couple's therapy on LA Shrinks on BRAVO in April 2013, Tamara wants to find the most ultimate wedding show to marry them on TV in 2015. On Memorial Day 2013 Vanilla Fire finally sells Until They Are Home to Walmart and Netflix and celebrates with a Veterans Day Premiere on November 11, 2013. 2014 - The statute of limitations on Balloon Boy will be over, and on Valentine's Day the were featured on OWN: Where Are They Now narrated by Oprah Winfrey, so now Vanilla Fire can make their very first feature film, but Steven and Tamara are fighting about who's going to direct. Tamara wants Jim Carrey to play Richard Heene and Yoko Ono to Executive Produce while Lucy Lu plays Myumi. Vanilla Fire has all the footage of Heene buying the supplies to build the "balloon" from Home Depot. Ed Harris just happens to be the spokesperson for Home Depot. Ed Harris could play the corrupt Larimer County Sheriff. Tamara wants this transformational film of redemption to help bring awareness to the cause of Diabetes. Tamara begins TM meditation and then returns to Christ on Martin Luther King Day. Her brother Ted is ran over on his bicycle on St. Patrick's Day. Tamara joins a daily Bible study group. She attends the RealScreen Awards and the Variety Faith Based Summit and Vanilla Fire has three pitch meetings. Tamara's brother Bill is ready to make a faith based feature film - move over Mel Gibson! Tamara has a dream and two visions of a full moon and finds out that Edith Wharton was featured in the 2012 September issue of VOGUE the month after Steven's Father passed away and she has another spiritual experience of rebirth at a full moon dance on Friday the 13th all the while her numerology abilities are increasing. The local TV show Metro Motion wins a local Emmy. Tamara gives JP Dejoria a Vanilla Fire commanders coin at the Brent Shapiro Summer Spectacular. Steven and Tamara are invited to the Marine Ball. Steven and Tamara celebrate ten years together with a special anniversary party where he gives her the Edith Wharton heirloom family crystal. Steven, Blake and Tamara attend the Lionsgate Expendables 3 Fire & Ice Premiere and Tamara tells Mel Gibson about her film idea. Blake will appear on Queen Latifah on Monday September 22, 2014.
2015 - Steven and Tamara had the first reality TV wedding of the year. The wedding aired on VH1 on January 4th, 2015. And they are living happily ever after.

Military filmmakers had a TV wedding in the works for 2013 but they spent $400,000 on their film Until They Are Home, and for now Steven can't afford to give Tamara the wedding of her dreams. "Had we gotten the nomination, it would have changed everything," says Steven.
"We didn't sell the film until Memorial Day 2013. Now you can buy it at Walmart and Netflix." Now Steven and Tamara are looking for a wedding show that can help them have their big day and give his bride the wedding of her dreams in 2015.

Vanilla Fire wants to tie the knot so they can carry on the legacy as military filmmakers like Norm Hatch who won an Oscar in 1944 and is the star of Until They Are Home.

Tamara's father served our country at the Pentagon for 20 years. The bride has served our city as a news anchor for 8 years. Tamara's mother taught her to find a greater need than her own and serve it. She comes from a small town with a big heart - she grew up at the end of a gravel road where there was nobody to play with, so all her friends were on television. Now she's here in the big entertainment city on the beach with big wedding dreams. But all that really touches her heart is her Dad back in the Natural State of Arkansas.
HOW DID STEVEN AND TAMARA MEET?
They met by chance at the Santa Monica Will Rogers Post Office on July 15th 2004. He was parcel to her and gave her a package - a stack of Robb Report Luxury Magazines, over which she fantasized for days. Did this man have a jet and a yacht? She emailed him. They emailed each other, him urging her to meet him for coffee. He proposed that they should start their own TV network together - anything to get her to show herself again. Then the next week she finally decided to meet him again in person. She told him to meet her on the beach in Venice at the rock jetty at 6:15am. That morning, unlike any other morning she had ever seen in all her three years there, the beach was covered in starfish. A magical morning. She was in the middle of her Masters Degree program and her thesis was about Transformational Television. Her mission is to combine Spirituality with Entertainment. She was working a part time job as the Receptionist and Executive Assistant to the President of a Product Integration company for films and TV, the VP of which was Sharon Bruneau.
By October, Steven seemed to be perfect for her. He had a public access TV talk show that he gave to her. He also put her on the red carpet at the Night of 100 Stars, the number one Oscar viewing party in the world. She got a job as the local news anchor for Santa Monica City TV - the only news station in Los Angeles by the beach. She eventually saw his bachelor pad on Montana Avenue in Santa Monica and found out that he did not have a jet and a yacht and that he was selling advertising in a luxury magazine. He was the number one sales guy in the company. He also sold advertising in the program books for People's Choice Awards and American Music Awards. He closed this sweet Southern belle in spite of his New York bully military toughness. He hailed from Ft. Defiance Augusta Military Academy and she from Ft. Belvoir Alexandria Virginia, her father from Intelligence at the Pentagon. Together, they started going out on reality TV shows together, starting with Blind Date. In fact, they've secretly lived out their entire romantic life on reality TV. Steven had been on the legendary reality show Blind Date three times with no luck. "Cocktails!" So, they put him on a fourth time with Tamara after they had been dating for nine months to show his dating success story. But how long could it last? After another year, sweet Southern belle Tamara couldn't deal with Steven. He was over caffeinated with a high stress level and had an addiction to multiple cell phones. She dumped him on Breaking Up with Shannen Doherty on the Oxygen network, and the breakup appeared on Entertainment Tonight with Mary Hart.
Steven C. Barber is tenacious and persistent. Ask anyone. His middle initial stands for Carborundum, a sobriquet given to him by his cantankerous WWII Vet subject of his military films who lives in Malibu. Steven won Tamara back because they got help for his cell phone and coffee addiction on Before N After'noon Movies on the USA Network. Then he tried to send her to the moon on Pitch To America which aired on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. She found that pretty thrilling so she decided to keep him. She decided to kiss this frog and turn him into a filmmaker. She named their company Vanilla Fire. Vanilla after their love of vanilla lattes. And Fire after her cat Sir "Kindles" Fire whom Steven grew to love, as did the entire walk street in Venice. There was so much love for pets that Tamara got a bunny named Truffles which eventually died, but not before a trip to the pet store to buy bunny food found Tamara & Steven a new puppy named Jimmy Chew (they bought with money from an anonymous A-list celebrity who donated to their first movie.) When the bunny died, they were in search of a new pet and they landed on the TV show Petfinder on Animal Planet, who decided to make Jimmy Chew a star! This happy family began making films and have twice landed on the Oscar Shortlist (and later Unbeaten was named Top Ten Olympic Film of all Time by TIME magazine.) But Tamara was still not convinced he was "the one."

After growing up in the South, Tamara arrived in California at the turn of the century. The bride has served our city as a news anchor for almost ten years. Tamara's mother taught her to find a greater need than her own and serve it, so she created Vanilla Fire and began producing military films. One with Ed Harris on the Military Channel. One with Norm Hatch who won an Oscar back in 1944. And all that really touches her heart is her Dad back in the Natural State of Arkansas. She must get married while her Daddy is still around to see it.
UNTIL THEY ARE HOME
The film Until They Are Home features actual footage from the 1940's of the very first military combat photographers to ever film during battle. Norm Hatch shows what it was like to run and gun in the Pacific as one of the first ever motion picture combat photographers. Norm Hatch's footage with the Marines at Tarawa won an Oscar in 1944. And he was up for an Honorary Oscar this year - the Oscar that Oprah Winfrey won. Now Norm Hatch's footage is featured in Until They Are Home as the men who lay in that old battlefield are finally repatriated and children and grandchildren find closure. Norm Hatch lives in Alexandria, Virginia, the very same city (Ft. Belvoir) where Until They Are Home Producer Tamara Henry was born in 1971 while her father William W. Henry was serving our country for 20 years in Intelligence at the Pentagon and he received a Bronze Star in 1962, the very same year John F. Kennedy instilled Armed Forces Day on May 18th.
Vanilla Fire has united as a force for good, and continues to make military films, and carry on the legacy of the first motion picture combat photographers as the military filmmaking couple of the 21st Century.
Unsatisfied with Steven, Tamara tried three times to find Mr. Right on Millionaire Matchmaker on Bravo and once on Who Wants To Date A Comedian on the CW. She unleashed her inner diva on the ex beauty queen episode of RuPaul's Drag U and that same summer her local TV show "Metro Motion" was nominated for an Emmy. Steven could not let her get away, so he popped the question to her on the red carpet at the 2009 Night of 100 Stars just as Bernie Kopel from The Love Boat walked by and they got the whole thing on tape. Was it in the stars? Or should she throw this starfish back into the ocean?
Steven finally agreed to get couple's therapy on LA Shrinks on Bravo in April of 2013. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy couldn't seem to help that both Steven and Tamara are just a tad commitment phobic. Could the only thing that would lure them into holy matrimony be a possible reality TV wedding?
Steven is the great nephew of Edith Wharton. Steven's father passed away the summer of 2012, leaving him the heir to the Wharton fortune from the 1880's and in September 2012 Edith Wharton was featured in a spread in VOGUE magazine. He also put her on the red carpet at the Night of 100 Stars, the number one Oscar viewing party in the world. She got a job as the local news anchor for Santa Monica City TV - the only news station in Los Angeles by the beach. She eventually saw his bachelor pad on Montana Avenue in Santa Monica and found out that he did not have a jet and a yacht and that he was selling advertising in a luxury magazine. He was the number one sales guy in the company. He also sold advertising in the program books for People's Choice Awards and American Music Awards. He closed this sweet Southern belle in spite of his New York bully military toughness. He hailed from Ft. Defiance Augusta Military Academy and she from Ft. Belvoir Alexandria Virginia, her father from Intelligence at the Pentagon. Together, they started going out on reality TV shows together, starting with Blind Date. In fact, they've secretly lived out their entire romantic life on reality TV. Steven had been on the legendary reality show Blind Date three times with no luck. "Cocktails!" So, they put him on a fourth time with Tamara after they had been dating for nine months to show his dating success story. But how long could it last? After another year, sweet Southern belle Tamara couldn't deal with Steven. He was over caffeinated with a high stress level and had an addiction to multiple cell phones. She dumped him on Breaking Up with Shannen Doherty on the Oxygen network, and the breakup appeared on Entertainment Tonight with Mary Hart.
Steven C. Barber is tenacious and persistent. Ask anyone. His middle initial stands for Carborundum, a sobriquet given to him by his cantankerous WWII Vet subject of his military films who lives in Malibu. Steven won Tamara back because they got help for his cell phone and coffee addiction on Before N After'noon Movies on the USA Network. Then he tried to send her to the moon on Pitch To America which aired on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. She found that pretty thrilling so she decided to keep him. She decided to kiss this frog and turn him into a filmmaker. She named their company Vanilla Fire. Vanilla after their love of vanilla lattes. And Fire after her cat Sir "Kindles" Fire whom Steven grew to love, as did the entire walk street in Venice. There was so much love for pets that Tamara got a bunny named Truffles which eventually died, but not before a trip to the pet store to buy bunny food found Tamara & Steven a new puppy named Jimmy Chew (they bought with money from an anonymous A-list celebrity who donated to their first movie.) When the bunny died, they were in search of a new pet and they landed on the TV show Petfinder on Animal Planet, who decided to make Jimmy Chew a star! This happy family began making films and have twice landed on the Oscar Shortlist (and later Unbeaten was named Top Ten Olympic Film of all Time by TIME magazine.) But Tamara was still not convinced he was "the one."
FATHER OF THE BRIDE
Tamara's father served our country at the Pentagon for 20 years, and received a Bronze Star in 1962. Tamara was born in 1971 at Ft. Belvoir, Alexandria, VA - Tamara's mother and father celebrated the 4th of July with some fireworks of their own and nine months later a Star was born there next to the Pentagon. After growing up in the South, Tamara arrived in California at the turn of the century. The bride has served our city as a news anchor for almost ten years. Tamara's mother taught her to find a greater need than her own and serve it, so she created Vanilla Fire and began producing military films. One with Ed Harris on the Military Channel. One with Norm Hatch who won an Oscar back in 1944. Tamara's father loves country music, and Clint Black sings "She Won't Let Go" in Until They Are Home, which was on Good Morning America on Memorial Day when Vanilla Fire premiered Until They Are Home at the iconic Director's Guild of America, where she introduced the evening by saying to the packed house, "I love you Dad!" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tw0yR2V8m2E This small town girl with a big heart - wants to have a television wedding so her 79 year old Daddy can see it on television back in Arkansas, as he's too uncomfortable to travel. She's here in the big entertainment city on the beach with big wedding dreams. But since Until They Are Home didn't get the nomination, they didn't sell the film, and now they aren't able to pay for the wedding of her dreams. And all that really touches her heart is her Dad back in the Natural State of Arkansas. She must get married while her Daddy is still around to see it.
UNTIL THEY ARE HOME
The film Until They Are Home features actual footage from the 1940's of the very first military combat photographers to ever film during battle. Norm Hatch shows what it was like to run and gun in the Pacific as one of the first ever motion picture combat photographers. Norm Hatch's footage with the Marines at Tarawa won an Oscar in 1944. And he was up for an Honorary Oscar this year - the Oscar that Oprah Winfrey won. Now Norm Hatch's footage is featured in Until They Are Home as the men who lay in that old battlefield are finally repatriated and children and grandchildren find closure. Norm Hatch lives in Alexandria, Virginia, the very same city (Ft. Belvoir) where Until They Are Home Producer Tamara Henry was born in 1971 while her father William W. Henry was serving our country for 20 years in Intelligence at the Pentagon and he received a Bronze Star in 1962, the very same year John F. Kennedy instilled Armed Forces Day on May 18th.
Vanilla Fire has united as a force for good, and continues to make military films, and carry on the legacy of the first motion picture combat photographers as the military filmmaking couple of the 21st Century.
Unsatisfied with Steven, Tamara tried three times to find Mr. Right on Millionaire Matchmaker on Bravo and once on Who Wants To Date A Comedian on the CW. She unleashed her inner diva on the ex beauty queen episode of RuPaul's Drag U and that same summer her local TV show "Metro Motion" was nominated for an Emmy. Steven could not let her get away, so he popped the question to her on the red carpet at the 2009 Night of 100 Stars just as Bernie Kopel from The Love Boat walked by and they got the whole thing on tape. Was it in the stars? Or should she throw this starfish back into the ocean?
Steven finally agreed to get couple's therapy on LA Shrinks on Bravo in April of 2013. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy couldn't seem to help that both Steven and Tamara are just a tad commitment phobic. Could the only thing that would lure them into holy matrimony be a possible reality TV wedding?
Steven is the great nephew of Edith Wharton. Steven's father passed away the summer of 2012, leaving him the heir to the Wharton fortune from the 1880's and in September 2012 Edith Wharton was featured in a spread in VOGUE magazine. Vanilla Fire would live happily ever after in the heart of a tsunami zone where Tamara rollerblades every day and writes from her window overlooking the ocean, while her baby boomer groom is out slaying dragons. Please help this couple find someone to help them "tie the knot" like a big bow on top of this reality TV love story. Then, they will be ready to launch their own REAL show, Real Housewives of Venice Beach. "Real" love between a man and a women who make films together ... about the military... and about the disabled... and about the Olympic heroes like Blake Leeper in their next film American Bladerunner (working title).
Casting Astrologer to the Stars BiBi DeAngelo says Vanilla Fire's wedding was set to fire off under the Fiery Sign of Aries as the wedding date was set for March 2013, but that means it's going to either explode into something spectacular or implode into annihilation. And she was right!
